My name is Tracey and I am the Registered Care Manager of The Chimneys. I have had a great many years in the caring profession and was the Assistant Manager of the Home before becoming the Registered Manager. I would like to welcome you on this website to view my Home of which I am very proud. I have many accreditations including NVQ 5 and the Registered Managers Award.
My personal Philosophy of Care requires that we all work to the highest standards of person centred care to meet our residents individual needs and preferences, treating all in a dignified and respectful manner. I recommend that you request our current Brochure to understand and appreciate how this philosophy is put into practice on a daily basis, which could benefit you or your loved one in due course.
Thank you for your interest,
The Chimneys is a large two storey detached house in Bilton, one of the many small villages on the outskirts of Rugby with good access to public services and amenities.
The Chimneys is an established Residential Home providing full residential accommodation with 24 hour personal care in a loving, family-like environment to clients who, by reason of advancing years, find it difficult to continue living by independent means. We are registered to care for E.M.I. clients and happily accept permanent, respite and short stay admissions.
Our superior living accommodation is cared for with dedication, our high quality food, made from fresh ingredients is cooked with passion, our daily leisure activities are played with fun and laughter and above all else, our care is provided with thoughtfulness and courtesy.
We never forget that our residents live in their home all day and every day whilst we, the staff, only visit. We therefore do everything in our power to ensure that our residents feel loved, relaxed and most importantly to regard The Chimneys as their very own home.
We have accommodation for 25 residents with most rooms have en-suite facilities and all have 24 hour nurse call bell facilities. All furniture and furnishings are provided but our residents are encouraged to have their rooms furnished in their own personal style and taste and are welcome to have any personal knick-knacks or possessions that they may wish to have. Similarly, should they wish to pursue hobbies or activities familiar to them, every endeavour is made to ensure that the equipment, materials and space are available to enjoy these pursuits.
Any specialist equipment assessed as necessary to promote health and safety is made available and used by staff to ensure our resident's needs are met in an appropriate and safe manner.
Three comfortable lounges and a large conservatory dining room add to the comfort of the Home. A pleasant patio with raised garden borders lies within fully landscaped grounds.
Tracey, our Registered Care Manager leads a qualified and experienced care team who are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We continually invest in training our staff which enables our care staff to gain QCF (Qualification and Credit Framework) qualifications in care. This helps us to continue to improve the care provided to all residents.
We continue to hold an Investors In People Award which demonstrates that we are responsible employers.
Long Stay Residential Care
Palliative Care and Continual Health Care Needs
A senior staff member always completes a pre-admission assessment to determine whether or not we can meet each person's needs. This information is then used to create a personalised care plan for the prospective resident and after admission, the care plan is expanded to provide comprehensive information about the health, wellbeing and care of the resident. Regular reviews of the care plan are undertaken with the involvement of each resident and if more appropriate with their families.
Additionally, we convene regular Resident's Meetings where we consult with residents about their daily life in the Home and note their preferences or dislikes.
Our Cooks prepare genuine home cooked meals made from fresh ingredients each and every day and will gladly cater for special dietary requirements due to medical, religious, ethnic or personal preferences. Our Residents also enjoy freshly baked cakes and biscuits and a glass of wine if they so wish!
Our staff realise the importance of stimulation and have daily schedules of activities to aid motivation and help prevent monotony. In addition, independent companies visit to provide regular sessions of games, music and physical activities.
The Chimneys is registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the body empowered by the Government to regulate care homes. They inspect the Home regularly to ensure that high standards of care are maintained and the reports they publish can be viewed on their website.
In addition contract and monitoring officers from Warwickshire County Council carry out quality checks on the service so that they can be confident that the Home's good standards are being maintained.
